PurposeCare Acquires Michigan-based Home Sweet Home

PurposeCare’s Portfolio of Companies Comes Together Under One Brand and Mission

Chicago, IL — March 21, 2023 — PurposeCare, a leading provider of home care services in Michigan and across the Midwest, announced today the acquisition of Home Sweet Home In-Home Care (“Home Sweet Home”), a St. Joseph, Michigan-based independent home health care agency serving southwest Michigan residents since 2011. Home Sweet Home has earned a sterling reputation within the community for delivering outstanding care and is well respected by clients, referral partners, and payors alike.

Welcoming Home Sweet Home to the PurposeCare Family

“We welcome Home Sweet Home to the PurposeCare family as our first Michigan-based agency, supporting our continued growth and expansion throughout the Midwest,” says Rich Keller, chief executive officer, PurposeCare.

The acquisition adds depth to PurposeCare’s suite of home health care services. A portfolio company of Lorient Capital, PurposeCare provides home-based care services to more than 3,000 clients a month, primarily individuals who are dually eligible for Medicare and Medicaid. The PurposeCare platform leverages the caregiver’s presence in the home to identify changes in clients’ conditions, enabling timely clinical intervention from nurses and therapists on the PurposeCare team. With this acquisition, PurposeCare will expand its services to an additional 400 patients and more than 300 caregivers.

“We are thrilled to join the PurposeCare family — their mission and principles align well with ours,” says Eric Pumfery, chief executive officer and founder of Home Sweet Home. “Being part of something bigger during a time when home care is becoming a significant portion of the healthcare landscape is very exciting.”
